Interesting Fact: Daphne is extremely superstitious and follows some particularly unusual rituals. She believes that if you drop a pair of gloves or scissors, bad luck will follow if you pick them up yourself. Once, Daphne dropped some scissors at the village hall, but as there was no one around to pick them up she had to go knocking on nearby houses to find a likely volunteer. She was turned down at the first house she called upon as the lady wasn’t dressed, but eventually managed to persuade the local landlord to lend a hand. However when she arrived at the hall with the publican in tow she was greeted by the vicar and had to explain what was going on for fear that he’d think she was mad!
