Deal or No Deal

What did you think of the show before you applied?
I saw it as an opportunity to win some money without having to be “The Brain of Britain”.

What made you apply to be on the show?
It was a chance to win money and to get on TV.

Before you played, did you consider the money or the experience more important?
50/50

Did you have a financial target in mind? If so, what was it?
£10,000

What was it like sitting in the Crazy Chair?
It was like being in a dream world. I found it difficult to remember all the details later.

Did you feel fate put the 1p in your box?
Yes

How do you think The Banker treated you?
Very harshly! With only five boxes left and one of them containing £250,000 he should have offered me more than £9,950.

What was your first thought when your box was opened to reveal the 1p?
I was devastated

What was the first thing you did when you got home?
I didn’t tell anyone how much I’d won except my wife and sons. Everyone had to wait for the show to air.

Did you cash the cheque?
No

What does joining the 1p club, mean to you?
It is better than winning any other small amount i.e. £10, £100

How did the show change your life?
For a few months it was a talking point. My golfing friends all bought shirts with ‘Deal or No Deal’ on them just for fun, twenty of us all dressed up identically in them.
