Deal or No Deal

As Deal or No Deal reaches the milestone of 1000 shows, we thought we would let you know some fascinating statistics about the show since it first hit our screens back in 2005.

Including the 1000th show, the Banker has had to pay out in excess of £16 million.

The total amount of money saved by the Banker in payouts is over £8 million, (this assumes the player going to the end and winning the contents of their box.)

The Banker’s biggest victory came against Tolleck who dealt at £9,000 only to see his box contain the £250,000, which meant the Banker saved £241,000! The Biggest contestant victory was Jennifer Miller with £119,250. She still holds the record from series one, as she dealt at £120,000 and had just £750 in her box.

The highest No Deal was made by Kirsty Hardle who turned down an offer of £125,000.  She went on to win £75,000.

By the 1000th show the 1p has been brought to the table 42 times and has been won 20 times! The £250,000 has been brought to the table 40 times and has only been won twice! The £250,000 has been in box two the most and box 13 the least.

The biggest red run of eight is shared between five players. The longest blue run of nine belongs to Keran Jackson who turned her game around from a disastrous start to win £75,000. The unluckiest game ever was Nikki Tucker’s. Her highest offer in the whole game was only £250 and she went all the way to win the contents of her £100 box.

The highest first offer ever was £24,000 for Steve ‘Wrighty’ Wright (that was helped as £500,000 was on the board for a Christmas Day special). The highest first offer ever on a regular board was £20,000 for Matt Borer. The worst opening round ever on a regular board was when John ‘Buzz’ Busby knocked out in a first round the £10,000, £75,000, £15,000, £100,000 and £250,000. Only one player has ever taken the £250,000, £100,000 and £75,000 out in one round. This was Stuart Knighton-Callister. However he still went on to deal at an offer of £20,000 and had the same amount in his box.

There’s only one player to date that has won NOTHING (not even 1p) and that’s Lee Whitehouse. His final offer was £2.49 which he declined and he was left with a £1 and £10 boxes. The swap was offered at the end and the Banker decided to ‘make it interesting’: if the £10 was revealed, The Banker would make it £510. If it was £1, he would win nothing. The swap was declined, the £1 was revealed, no win!

The first person to take the Banker’s Gamble and for it to pay off was Steve ’Semi’ Harrison. He returned £14,000 on a £10,000/£20,000 split and won £20,000. Obviously the biggest success from a Banker’s Gamble is young Alice Mundy, who returned £17,500 on a 1p/£250,000 split and became our second quarter of a millionaire!
