Shaun took the big gamble

An excited Shaun took the Walk of Wealth. Shaun is a social work student from Hartlepool and has a Chiwawawa called Izzy who is the most important thing in his life. “He’s a nutter” shouted Shaun’s Dad as a picture of the prize pooch was shown. Shaun wanted to win big money to live in Australia for a couple of years. Shaun had brought along a code rather than a system to play the game with and explained that he turned the letters in his name into numbers which he will pick in round one. Shaun also had his late granddad’s watch with him for good luck.
The £250,000 was found in the opening round but otherwise it was an all-blue round. The Banker made his feelings known about Shaun’s system offering £3,181.16p Noel figured out that stood for C.R.A.P. Shaun admitted he would also like to gain financial help whilst studying – No Deal. Shaun kept looking at his tatty piece of paper in round two. £5,000 was the largest amount found. The Banker had watched Shaun on the wings and noticed he was always fully behind his fellow contestants. The offer was £9,000 – No Deal. £35,000 was followed by two low reds in round three. The Banker wanted to get Shaun out of the game with an offer of £10,000 – No Deal. Shaun wanted box 19 not realising that he had already used it in round one. The Banker lost his patience and decided to leave and took his mobile phone.
Noel thought Shaun’s confusing system was distracting him. After an all-blue fourth round, the board was looking very strong. Pennyworth had paged the Banker who couldn’t believe Shaun’s luck. The Banker offered a massive £25,000 – No Deal. A cruel fifth round saw £75,000, £15,000 and £100,000 wiped from the board. Noel knew the Banker’s offer of £8,500 would create a groan. Shaun wanted to chase the life changing money – No Deal. 1p and £1 were dramatically found in the final round, meaning Shaun was guaranteed £10,000. Shaun didn’t want to pick a final box and the Banker rang to offer him £25,000 with three boxes left on the board. Everyone was in agreement that Shaun should deal, which he did – Deal. £20,000 concluded the round leaving £10,000 and £50,000 on the board. Shaun felt a slight regret because he believed £50,000 was on the table. The Banker offered the Banker’s Gamble. “Don’t be stupid and keep the money” shouted his Dad but Shaun wanted to take the risk – Deal. Noel flipped the lid on box 22 to reveal £10,000. Shaun was gutted but Noel congratulated him on playing the game his way.
