To pass the time a group of cast-a-ways play a game with 22 boxes and a phone so “let’s choose the chums” said Noel. “Yes we scoff at adversity and want to make our dreams come true for you… Dai!” announced Noel. The Dai was cast, the primary school teacher from Bridgend carried box 13 down the Walk of Wealth. Noel was pleased to hear that Dai uses Deal or No Deal as part of his maths teaching. “It is a good way to make maths fun” explained Dai. It helps them learn to handle money, use a calculator and make decision on when to deal. Noel held up a Deal or No Deal formatted work sheet which Dai uses with year five classes. Dai’s proudest moment was when he completed the Great North Run. A child from his school was diagnosed with leukaemia so Dai decided to contact a charity who advised him to enter the event. Noel showed a picture of Dai looking proud holding up his medal after completing the race. Dai admitted that box 13 worried him because he was going to pick that number first.

The Banker asked Dai to choose an amount from the board and if that amount was discovered in the opening round, Dai would win a holiday. Dai picked five pounds. Martyn, Kenny and Paul came close with £500, 50p and £10! Noel thought it was a sensational start. £250 and £1 completed an amazing all-blue start but Dai failed to find the fiver. “Did you pay formatting rights?” asked the Banker because Dai had used Deal or No Deal’s copyright to make his worksheets. Dai looked worried so the Banker thought he might become the first player to face criminal proceedings. The opening offer was £13,500 – No Deal. £35,000 and £100,000 was a nasty start to round two. Noel had a horrible thought that the five pounds was in Dai’s box 13. Dan concluded the round with £50,000! The Banker had a word with his lawyers and Dai’s use of Deal or No Deal was ‘highly illegal’ and because his class were aged 10 they are ‘all implicated! ’ Noel read out a message from the Banker “Hello children, Mr. Goldsworthy has been very naughty and now you will have to go to jail. Kiss goodbye to mummy and daddy!” If that wasn’t bad enough he also dropped the offer to £3,500 – No Deal. 10p, £1,000 and 1p were wiped from the board in round three. Jade got the kiss. Noel thought it was a ‘yoyo’ game. “The tide came in, the tide went out and came back in again” said the Banker who offered his original £13,500. He also thought Dai unconsciously knows the five pounds is in his box. Dan reminded Dai that “the bottles might come into play” – No Deal.

A horrid fourth included £3,000, £250,000 and £5,000. The Banker decided to offer £3,500 plus one bottle. Noel reminded Dai that if he finds ‘Treasure Island’ that would double to £7,000 – No Deal. Noel couldn’t recall a game like it when £100 and £50 were first out in round five. Dai recalled a random dream he’d had about box 15. He was in a supermarket car park, there were boxes dotted everywhere but 15 stood out. Phillip Schofield came over and told him to leave 15. Danny completed the round with £75,000! “Phillip Schofield would make an excellent host” said the Banker. The offer was £5,000 plus one bottle – No Deal. £750 meant five pounds was the last blue in the final round. £15,000 and £20,000 left a £5 / £10,000 finish. Dai’s show number is 1384 and the offer was £1,384. “If Phillip Schofield ruins my life I won’t forgive him” remarked Dai – No Deal. “How much faith do you have in Phillip Schofield?” asked the Banker before offering the Swap – No Swap. Noel flipped the lid on box 13 to reveal £10,000! There were huge celebrations, Dai plans to travel and teach abroad with his winnings which will “go along way!”

more

Noel mentioned the mysterious messages in the bottles before choosing a cast-a-way. “Now it’s your chance to leave the island with the Banker’s booty…Laura!” cried Noel. The travel agent carried box nine down the Walk of Wealth. Noel understood the last five years have been like ‘Hell’ for Laura, in 2005 Laura had a tumour on her pancreas. She had to undergo a major operation which nearly killed her. Then in 2008 she began loosing weight after having a tummy upset. She discovered she had been wrongly diagnosed and the lump had been Cancerous. She received no treatment for Cancer after her operation so she now has secondary in the Liver. “It isn’t going to go away” revealed Laura, so a transplant will eventually be needed. “People think Cancer is a death sentence but is not” explained Laura who tries to help other Cancer suffers in a support group. “People can carry on for years and years” she added, which is what Laura plans to do. Noel held up two photographs of Laura’s children and husband, Jamie at their wedding. Best friend, Katie was amongst the Pilgrims with father-in-law, Staff making up the Ocean.

The Banker rang before any boxes were picked to say if Laura finds 10p in the opening round she would win a holiday! £100,000, 50p and £10,000 weren’t a great start. £50 and £500 concluded the round. Noel liked the round despite missing the 10p. The Banker was amazed by Laura’s story but “business is business” and he offered £2,000 – No Deal. Dan started round two with £50,000 “we all want a big money game” said Noel. £3,000 and 1p completed the round. Stephen was the lucky one to get the kiss. The Banker said the 1p saved her and went up to £5,000 and one bottle. Noel said there are three messages, two are ‘Desert Island’ and one is ‘Treasure Island.’ If Laura found the ‘Treasure Island’ she would double her winnings to £10,000 – No Deal. £250, £5 and £5,000 were wiped from the board in round three. The Banker described Laura as an ‘extraordinary’ contestant because of her single mindedness and offered £14,000. Laura thought that offer was ‘huge’ but she followed Dai’s advice and gave it another go – No Deal.

The Banker was under pressure when £100, £1 and £15,000 did little damage in round four. “A fantastic board, I’m excited and nervous” admitted Laura. The Banker was looking to save himself some money and offered £12,000 plus one bottle. There were cries of “no” from the Ocean so the Banker rang back, “what an ugly current” and upped his offer to £12,000 plus two bottles. Laura would feel bad if she didn’t take anything back home for her children. She admitted it was ‘crunch time’ and a ‘make or break’ decision – Deal! A nightmare start to round five saw £10 and £750 discovered. The Banker rang to say if the next one is blue the offer will be £45,000! Linda flipped box 14 to see 10p! It was an all-red five box and the Banker would have offered £45,000. ‘How much cruelty is left?’ asked Noel going into the final round. £35,000 and £75,000 was heading in the right direction. Kenny was asked to kill the game with box seven and £250,000! It was a £1,000 / £20,000 finish and the Banker would have been offering £6,000. Noel flipped Laura’s box nine to see £1,000. It was time to smash the bottles, Laura picked the Blue and Red bottles. Noel put on protective clothing before smashing the Red bottle to see ‘Desert Island.’ Noel smashed the blue bottle which hid ‘Treasure Island!’ doubling Laura’s winnings to £24,000! “I’m over the moon” said Laura who has had one of the best times of her life.

more

Noel revealed the secret to...

Noel revealed the secret to Deal timing “It’s not when you come, it’s when you go… Dennis!” Noel’s best mate, Dennis wore his trademark lemon shirt whilst carrying box 17 down the Walk of Wealth. The odd job man from Leeds used to be a service engineer but now does any job going. Dennis was proud to say he does all the work himself and doesn’t employ anyone else. Noel held up a photograph of Dennis in a homemade Superman outfit, he was dressed by his two daughters and wore his wife’s knickers! A photograph of his wife, June and Dennis outside their motor home followed. They ‘bombed’ around Europe visiting 11 countries in only nine weeks. Dennis needed to climb a ladder to cut a low hanging branch to get his motor home under but he slipped off! The Doctor asked “why were up a tree?” Dennis replied “that’s where I live!” to everyone’s amusement. Dennis described himself as a ‘practical’ man and gave a ladder to June for her birthday. He also gave her a cordless drill; “what for?” asked Noel “for when there is no electricity” replied Dennis.

A contrasting start saw £10,000, 50p and £250,000 wiped from the board. £5 and £250 completed the opening round. The Banker told Dennis that he was what younger people would describe as a ‘ledge.’ “To stand on?” asked Dennis, the Banker explained it was short for ‘legend.’ The first offer was £6,000, which Dennis was happy with but he said – No Deal. A great start to round two saw Haj reveal 1p and get the kiss. £3,000 was found “not an odd job, you have a lot of work to do” warned Noel. Laura completed the round with £20,000. Dennis shockingly revealed that he went skinny dipping with June in the shower last night. The Banker admitted the 1p had helped Dennis enormously so the offer was £9,000 – No Deal. Noel wanted Dennis to do an all-blue round. £750, 10p and £5,000 weren’t far wrong in round three. The Banker said it was a good round for Dennis who could find himself skinny dipping in a different class of shower with £15,000. Noel said the Banker was worried about the block of reds, Dennis decided to – Deal!

The whole Dream Factory was stunned by Dennis’s decision. During the break Dennis told Noel “I meant to say no deal.” Noel told the viewers at home this shocking revelation and luckily for Dennis that moment was caught on tape and replayed to the studio. The Banker asked the Pilgrims to vote if they thought Dennis deserved to have the question again. The majority of hands were raised so Noel asked the question again – No Deal.

Round four started with £35,000 and £100,000 ‘oh my word’ said Noel, Dennis looked to have accidentally got it right the first time. £500 completed the ghastly round. “Viva democracy” jeered the Banker. He told the Pilgrims “your vote has robbed this sweet old man of half his money” and offered £7,500. Noel told Dennis not to dwell on his last decision but Dennis wanted to – Deal! Noel thought it was a ‘painful irony.’ £50,000, £10 and £1,000 were discovered in round five. The Banker was laughing himself silly because he would have offered £15,000. Noel felt awful when £50 and £1 were unveiled in the final round. Dennis was one box away from an all-red finish. Luckily Maria was asked to conclude the round with box 21 and £75,000! With £100 and £15,000 left the Banker would have offered £7,000. The Banker rang back again to offer a Special Swap in a most unique climax. Dennis’s £7,500 was safe but the twist was that if Noel revealed the £15,000 on the Pound Table, Dennis would win that. It was a no lose climax but the Banker didn’t think Dennis could get it right – No Swap. Noel flipped box 17 to see £15,000! “I don’t believe it!” cried Noel who was hugged by an ‘over the moon’ Dennis. He plans to use the money to go on holiday to anywhere as long as it’s hot!

For the full game report click here>>>
more

The contestants on the wings have...

The contestants on the wings have collectively waited over 30 years for this opportunity. Individually the waiting was now over for one person so let’s hope the wait was worth it for… Ovie! Noel said ‘life will never be the same again’ as Ovie carried box nine down the Walk of Wealth. Ovie needs to change his life after he was made redundant from IT in 2008. He hasn’t managed to find work since and lost everything including his car and house. Ovie said it was ‘tough time’ being made homeless but he tried to keep on smiling calling it ‘swings and roundabouts.’ Ovie was gratefully to have a loving and supportive family behind him. Ovie felt alone but when he went to the courts he saw a list of hundreds of people who were in the same situation. Ovie feels the only way is up and came on Deal or No Deal to help build a new life. Noel held up Ovie’s wedding photograph from Las Vegas in 2003 during the ‘good times.’ A photograph of Ovie’s little girl, Nevaeh followed. He described her as his ‘little piece of heaven’ because her name is ‘heaven’ spelt backwards!

Caroline said Ovie was a ‘lovely daddy’ before unveiling £250. £15,000, £50,000 and £1,000 did some damage before Jayne completed the opening round with another red £20,000! “Do you know how the game works?” asked the Banker. Ovie got confused in a previous game, cheering at the wrong moment. The Banker thought Ovie was on his side but he had hit too many reds for a generous offer £4,000 – No Deal. Round two began with £100 and £75,000 “not feeling good” thought Noel. There were nine blues undiscovered so Noel told Ovie to change his tactics and think ‘kiss.’ Harry was asked to open box 14 which hid £750. The Banker thought he was working ‘Ovietime’ to be his best friend. An ‘unusual’ board meant the Banker was unable to do much so he stuck at £4,000 – No Deal. Martyn revealed £100,000! “What a horrible run of luck” said Noel. £5 and 50p concluded the third round. The Banker thought Ovie was edging closer to the £250,000 in each round. He was prepared to offer a ‘lifeline’ of £4,000 again. Ovie asked for the question but the Banker rang back and said “you’re being too hasty.” The Banker was certain Ovie would hit the £250,000 in the next round – No Deal.

The Banker was enjoying Ovie’s misfortune “anyone got any popcorn?” he then put on a movie trailer voice “At the end of a man’s dream, the lights go out in his eyes, now showing in the Dream Factory.” £1 and £35,000 was a disastrous start to round three. The game wasn’t respecting Ovie’s needs and Dai showed another red £10,000. The Banker gave one thumb up for the movie because it didn’t have the ending he wanted. The board was weaker but the £250,000 was still there so the Banker chose to offer a ‘too generous’ offer £6,000. Harry said it was a “one box game” and Imani told Ovie ‘if you are in any doubt take it.” Caroline added “if the £250K goes, are you prepared to go all the way?” Ovie asked for the question – Deal! 1p and £50 changed the atmosphere in round five. “Don’t do an all-blue round” exclaimed Noel. Haj flipped box three which contained £250,000! Ovie has created a Banker spanking and won the game with just one box. It was a horror movie for the Banker who would have offered £925. £5,000, £500 and £10 left a 10p / £3,000 finish. The Banker would have offered £700. Noel flipped Ovie’s box nine to see £3,000, Ovie couldn’t have any regrets after doubling that amount. Ovie said he would take Nevaeh on her first holiday, give some money to his mum and settle some debts. “I love you all!” said Ovie before his fellow contestants did the ‘Ovie shout.’

For the full game report click here>>>
more

Hayley signed off with a Banker Spanking

There are quite a few qualities needed...

There are quite a few qualities needed to be a great Deal player and timing is right at the top… Hayley! The sign language interpreter from Northampton carried box 18 down the Walk of Wealth. Noel was intrigued by her career choice. Hayley insisted she fell into it by accident. She used to talk a lot in school, which often got her into trouble. So she taught a friend ‘a b c’ in sign language so they could communicate. Hayley didn’t realise she would still be doing it years later. Business partner Mark with his wife Manjit was amongst the Pilgrims. Hayley’s favourite cousin, Gillian was also there for support. Hayley had a dream in which she was swimming and spotted treasure below the surface. The water was too murky; Hayley couldn’t see where she was going because she had forgotten her goggles. So Hayley had brought her goggles to the Dream Factory to help her find treasure in her game. Noel held up a photograph of Hayley’s grandparents, Hayley would like nothing more than to take them back to Jamaica. Hayley has made a side bet with her Nan that a certain box always has a blue inside. Hayley didn’t believe her and has £20 riding on it.

Hayley went straight to her Nan’s box 20 which did contain a blue £5! Noel couldn’t believe that Hayley was down £20 after the very first box. Maria made Hayley feel better by unveiling 1p and getting the kiss. £50,000, £1,000 and £50 completed the opening round. The Banker called Hayley by her nickname ‘Giraffe fingers’ before offering £20 so she could pay off her Nan. He quickly rang back to say he forgot to mention the £11,000 in front of it – No Deal. A horror start to round two saw Ovie uncover the £250,000! Noel felt sorry for Hayley but she wanted everyone to remain positive. £15,000 followed so Noel told Hayley to wear her goggles. All the boxes looked blue and it worked £250 concluded the round. The Banker was relieved that the £250,000 left early and thought Hayley was the best thing on the ‘Goggle box.’ He was taking her seriously though and offered £7,020 – No Deal. The third round went swimmingly with 50p, £10 and £5,000 wiped from the board. “The goggles come out and the gloves come off’ said the Banker who offered £12,020. Hayley had three main goals, a deposit for a house, help an orphanage in Uganda and take grandparents to Jamaica. The Banker spoke to Hayley to try and find out her target but Hayley wasn’t prepared to tell. So Hayley wrote her target in Noel’s book. Noel also wrote the Banker’s guess alongside in the book. Noel asked the question – No Deal.

The curse of the Newbie returned when Caroline revealed £100,000 in round four. Hayley couldn’t look when £750 and £1 concluded the round. The Banker was in at the deep end but he warned Hayley not to chase the game ‘the water is very deep and you might struggle to get back to the surface’ before offering £13,020 – No Deal. Hayley wanted a quick and painless fifth round. 10p, £10,000 and £75,000 made it a very different five box. The Banker thought that was ‘cruel luck’ and put a value of £6,520 on her box. Hayley believed she was a member of the OHO club – No Deal. The final round started well with £500 and £3,000 but Hayley found herself with a tough decision to make. She left her Mum’s birthday box nine and Gillian’s favourite number four. The Banker rang to say ‘what a dilemma’ but offered to help by telling her to take £14,000 now! Noel thought it was a sign of the Banker getting nervous but Hayley saw it as a way out – Deal! Noel was shocked but Danny opened box four which hid £35,000 leaving a £100 / £20,000 finish. The Banker would have offered £7,000. Noel confirmed the Banker had made a big mistake when he flipped Hayley’s box 18 to see £100! Noel opened his book to see Hayley’s target was £25,000. The Banker had guessed it was between £40,000 and £45,000 which added salt in his wound.

For the full game report click here>>>
more

Noel emphasised that the Dream Factory...

Noel emphasised that the Dream Factory wasn’t a tourist destination “you’re here to change your lives… Darren!” The police inspector from Essex carried box four to the Pound Table. Noel was shocked to discover that Darren was caught running an unlicensed trading stall which was closed by the police! Darren was quick to point out he was only seven at the time. He was a choir boy and tried to raise funds for his church by arranging a ‘bring and buy’ sale with his brother. Noel held up a picture of Darren’s 18 month baby boy, Harrison. Darren admitted becoming a dad was the main reason he was here, the new responsibility had changed Darren’s perspective on life. Darren’s been married to Gemma for three years and showed a photograph of their wedding day. Work colleges, Cheryl and Kevin were amongst the Pilgrims. Darren had picked his favourite number four so he saw that as a lucky omen going into the game.

A great start of £5 and 1p saw Carly get the penny kiss. “Jammy copper” remarked Noel. Then in complete contrast, £250,000 was wiped from the board. £75,000 and £10,000 concluded the opening round. The Banker promised not to use mind games and was fond of the name, Harrison. Noel thought the first offer of £6,000 was good – No Deal. £3,000 and £15,000 began round two. “Not enough blues” stressed Noel. Yvonne managed to pull out a low £50. Darren’s dream would be to build his own house on a plot of land in Great Oakley. But Noel said Darren had to end a family feud first. Darren is a keen golfer and used to practice indoors. His dad returned home one day to find a shattered front door. He has blamed Darren for the broken door ever since so Darren has promised to buy a new one. There was damage to the red hand side so the Banker valued his box at £8,000 – No Deal. An all-blue third round of £100, 10p and £750 put Darren back on track. The Banker wasn’t looking forward to ‘the bill’ tonight and offered £11,500 – No Deal.

Darren made it five blues in a row with 50p in round four. Hayley flipped the lid on box seven which hid £5,000. Darren wanted security for this family and ‘smile’ money for the future. He counts himself a lucky person because he has another baby on the way. £500 completed the round. The Banker described Darren as ‘likeable’ and ‘friendly’ but warned him not to be greedy and take £20,000. Cheryl reminded Darren of their previous conversations about money, but the board was very strong. It was the pivotal point of the game “I know where my priorities lie” said Darren before agreeing to – Deal! Dennis was asked to kill the game “how about that” said Dennis unveiling £100,000! £1 and £50,000 concluded the fifth round. The Banker would have offered £7,000. £1,000 and £35,000 left £20,000 as the highest red in the final round. Martyn concluded the round with £250 leaving a £10 / £20,000 finish. The Banker would have stuck at £7,000. Noel flipped Darren’s box four to see £10 and confirmed a Banker spanking! Darren felt extremely fortunate to get his chance in the Crazy Chair and thought the Dream Factory lived up to its name.

For the full game report click here>>>
more

Kelly’s dream wedding became a reality

Noel mentioned how Deal goes round in...

Noel mentioned how Deal goes round in cycles and wanted to zoom back to the mega-money with… Kelly! The account manager from Liverpool carried box four down the Walk of Wealth. Finance Michael was amongst the Pilgrims. They got engaged after just six months although that was 10 years ago! “There’s always been a higher priority to spend money on” explained Kelly who still dreams of a big wedding. Noel held up a photograph of Kelly’s five year old daughter, Kiera and mentioned there was a huge amount of sadness before she came into her world. Kelly spoke about her son, Joel who she lost to meningitis when he was only a couple of months old. It was tragic but then Keira came along unexpectedly and means the world. Kelly brought two little stones that she found in her makeup bag, they had the words ‘health’ and ‘wealth’ inscribed into them. Kelly hoped they will bring good luck.

A great start of £1 was halted when Yvonne produced an ugly £100,000. Kelly asked Jenks, who had been absent from the last three games to get her back on track, £10. £5 and 10p completed the good opening round. The Banker apologised to Kelly who had apparently found the Banker’s kidney stones in her makeup bag. He wasn’t sure how they got there but offered £8,750 – No Deal. Round two saw £15,000 and £5,000 out first. Kelly asked “where is that penny hiding?” Hayley could only answer with £100. The Banker felt jaded and lonely with so much love in the air, he commented that the average UK wedding costs £15,000. The Banker believed it was never going to happen and Kelly should see 10 years as a sign. The offer was £11,000 – No Deal. Kelly made a big hole in round three with £20,000, £10,000 and £500 wiped from the board. Noel didn’t think it was disastrous but the board had started to look exposed. The Banker claimed Kelly was fearful of commitment but being with Michael for 11 years meant Kelly disagreed. The Banker was prepared to give Kelly the chance to get married with an offer of £15,000. He said she would take it if she loved Michael – No Deal.

Danny unveiled £1,000. Kelly was running out of meaningful numbers. Cedelle was asked to open box 19 which contained 1p! Noel couldn’t believe that on the verge of eight box, Kelly still had four out of the power five. Mini completed the fourth round with £750. The Banker warned Kelly that she will need to turn down her dream wedding to go any further £20,000. Noel thought the Banker was taunting Kelly. He rang back with a message for Keira, “mummy doesn’t love daddy” which produced a hiss from the Pilgrims and sparked something in Kelly – No Deal. Kelly got herself into a fantastic situation when £3,000, £50 and £250 were hit in round five. Noel thought she was about to loose her fiancé status. Kelly did an evil laugh when the Banker rang, which Noel thought he deserved. “Looks like mummy loves daddy but Banker doesn’t love mummy’ said the Banker who offered £42,500. Kelly burst into tears so Michael came down. That amount would clear all obstacles in the way of the wedding but it was such a strong board – No Deal. Michael had to sit down after that decision. £250,000 and £50,000 was a bad start to the final round. Kelly had left her son and daughter’s birthday boxes. “What do I do!?” wondered Kelly who chose Joel’s number because he was her angel. It worked 50p was found! £35,000 and £75,000 were left on the board, the Banker said they could live happily ever after with £50,000! Kelly’s target was around £30,000 which was now guaranteed. Noel said “nothing wrong with being ambitious.” But Kelly chose to – Deal! Noel flipped the lid on Kelly’s box four to see £75,000! Kelly goes away with £50,000 and no more excuses to put off the wedding of her dreams.

For the full game report click here>>>
more

Del’s alphabet system almost spelt disaster for the Banker

There was definitely a gambling...

There was definitely a gambling atmosphere in the Dream Factory. “If you are still unsure whether you’re a gambler or not, remember ‘OHO’… Del!” announced Noel. Del didn’t dilly dally as he carried box 19 down the Walk of Wealth. His Dad was born in Cyprus and moved to the Elephant and Castle at three months old. Del was born in Woolwich. Noel discovered that Del is known for his ‘Del-isms’ which included him asking “how old was I when I was born?” When he received a Valentine’s card which read ‘I’ve admired you from afar’ Del asked where ‘afar’ was! Del admitted to having OCD and brought a photograph of his kitchen cupboards. All the tins had the labels facing outwards and his herbs were arranged in alphabetical order. Noel wanted Del to win a tidy sum and wished him good luck.

Del claimed to have no system before picking Newbie Carly to open box 12, which hid 10p. £35,000, £500 and £750 were then wiped off the board. Daphne completed the round perfectly with 1p! She ran down the Walk of Wealth to claim her kiss. “£90,000 in two days!” Moaned the Banker but the Pilgrims cheered with delight. The Banker had a couple more ‘Del-isms’ “Do electric cars use petrol?” and Del also asked “do rabbits sleep?” The Banker conceded it was the best opening round for some time and offered £11,500 – No Deal. Del insisted he was ‘just picking boxes’ after Noel suspected he had a secret system. 50p and £20,000 were found first in round two. The Banker rang early to predict the next box would be opened by Dennis. Noel wondered if the Banker had sussed Del’s system. “Clever Banker” said Del who did indeed have a secret system. Dennis completed the round with £75,000. The Banker didn’t want Del opening Emma’s box next so the offer was £11,500 – No Deal. Emma did start round three by opening box two, which hid £50. The Banker rang again to say Harry and ‘Giraffe fingers’ were going to be the next two boxes. Indeed they were and they unveiled £10,000 and £100,000. The Banker wanted to get Del out of the game and help those who have failed to guess Del’s system in his offer. £11,500 and a tin of alphabet soup – No Deal.

Noel ordered an all-blue fourth round. Del obliged by finding £1, £10 and £5. Noel thought it was a lovely notion that our first male Quarter of a Millionaire could be Del Boy. “Lovely jubbly” said Del. The Banker was fearful that Del might think ‘he who dares wins’ so he told him not to be a ‘plonker’ and take £17,500 – No Deal. Del believed in destiny £15,000 and £100 left one blue on the board in round five. Noel talked about the physiological difference finding the last blue would make. £3,000 completed the round. The Banker offered ‘the governor’ £26,000, after some mixed advice from the wings, Del chose to – No Deal. £50,000 and £1,000 were revealed in the final round. The Banker wanted to buy Del’s box now for £30,000 – No Deal. Rob completed the round with £5,000 leaving a £250 / £250,000 finish. Del said the first thing he would do with his winnings is buy a kitchen blind! The Banker described Del as ‘brave’ and ‘determined’ before offering a massive £70,000! Noel told Del that he would need to make an uncomfortable decision if he was to win the £250,000. Del was ready for the question – Deal! Del wouldn’t have swapped so Noel flipped box 19 to unveil £250,000! Noel described the game as ‘insane’ and Del was gutted but taking home £70,000 meant he couldn’t be too gutted. Del was going to spoil himself by getting a Venetian kitchen blind.

For the full game report click here>>>
more

“Now it is your turn to take a quick...

“Now it is your turn to take a quick step or two… Cheryl!” began Noel. The store manager from Sheffield carried box four down the Walk of Wealth. Noel was amazed to read that Cheryl was named manager just two weeks after joining the child’s clothing store. Cheryl was told she was manager because she was conscious and ambitious. Noel held up a photograph of Cheryl’s sister who now lives in the USA with herself and ‘adoptive’ sister Helen. Helen was amongst the Pilgrims and joked that Cheryl was paying her to be there. Cheryl believes in spiritual forces around her and was told by a physic that an angel would look after her.

Cheryl decided to start with the Mummy, Kelly who unveiled £100. £250, £250,000 and £5,000 were then wiped from the board. Cedelle complete the opening round with £1,000. The Banker thought Cheryl was a ‘wonderful’ lady and was led to believe she was full of mischievous, Helen quickly confirmed his suspicions. The Banker wanted two consecutive 1p wins for the first time ever. His first offer was £900 – No Deal. Any remaining positive energy went when £100,000 disappeared in round two. £15,000 and £20,000 also went in a damaging round. Noel thought it was ‘weird’ at the moment. Cheryl’s ambition is to own an old shabby run down wreck. The Banker didn’t fail to notice that Cheryl had hit six reds in a row. Even still he went up to £901 – No Deal. ‘Can we do an all-blue round?’ asked Noel. Darren answered that question with £50,000! Cheryl was left asking “where are all the blues?” when £35,000 followed. The red run was halted at eight when Harry flipped box two to reveal £750. The Banker was delighted and made a prediction that the £75,000 would go in the next round. He offered a ‘good’ valuation £750 – No Deal.

Noel thought there were echoes of Laurence’s game when £3,000 left only two reds on the board. £500 and £10 thankfully concluded the fourth round. Helen made a shocking revelation that she had a dream where Cheryl left the £75,000 and 1p to the end. After the last two blues, the Banker was forced to admit that this was a different scenario to Laurence’s game and offered £3,000 – No Deal. 10p and £10,000 left £75,000 as a lone red in round five. Noel highlighted the significance of the next box. Christina flipped box 11 to see £50. The Banker thought Helen’s dream was a bit spooky and wondered what he offered. Helen couldn’t remember but knew Cheryl won the £75,000. Noel said the Banker’s tone changed and he believed they could make a deal at £7,000. “Really good offer” said Cheryl. The Banker also mentioned that if she says ‘no deal’ she could go on one box at a time. Kelly thought Cheryl needn’t worry because she has the £75,000 in her box. The Banker made another promise that the next offer would double to £14,000 if she avoided the £75,000 – Deal! Cheryl wanted Jez to show £75,000 but he only managed £1. The Banker confirmed the offer would have been £14,000. £5 meant the Banker would have gone up to £21,000. Dave completed the final round with 50p leaving the predicted 1p / £75,000 finish. “All bow down to the majestic Helen” said the Banker. The offer would have been £28,000. Noel went to pull the seal on box 14 but was interrupted by the Banker. He was foaming at the mouth at the thought of two consecutive 1p winners, so he offered the Banker’s Gamble. Laurence won 1p in the previous game and also brought box 14 to the Pound Table. “What are the chances of the same values in the same box two games in a row?” asked Noel. Cheryl asked for the question – Deal! After declining the swap, Noel was about to make either Helen’s or the Banker’s dream come true. Noel flipped the lid on box four to see £75,000! Cheryl was swamped by her fellow players and said her life will change forever.

For the full game report click here>>>
more

“Trust me; the Banker’s knees are...

“Trust me; the Banker’s knees are trembling because it is you… Laurence!” announced Noel. It was a long walk for Laurence who carried box 14 to the Pound Table. The student and part-time care worker from Ayrshire believes in destiny. Laurence was working in a bar and was saying to a college that he would like to meet a nice girl; just 30 minutes later his wife to be Tracy entered the bar with a group of friends. Tracey said to her sister ‘he’s quite nice’ so her sister gave Laurence her number. They have now been married for nine years and Tracey was amongst the Pilgrims. Laurence brought a good luck drawing from his daughter Ellie. Noel held up a photograph of Laurence with wife Tracey and their two daughters Ellie and Chloe on their wedding day. Chloe arrived rather unexpectedly; the labour lasted just 42 minutes. Although during the labour Laurence still found time to brush his teeth and have a shower before delivering the baby himself! If Laurence won big, he would like to buy some land and build his own family home.

Laurence asked Daphne to start the game with box nine, which hid £1. Laurence doesn’t claim to be superstitious but wanted to keep his favourite number 11 to the end. Christina opened box seven to see £250,000! £35,000, £3,000 and £15,000 concluded the opening round. The Banker said the game swung wildly from ecstasy to agony. He wanted to show compassion and offer Laurence his favourite number £11 – No Deal. £50 and £500 was a good start to the second round. Noel revealed that Laurence also makes children’s toys including dolls houses and rocking horses. Laurence was fearful of choosing the wrong box, Del opened box four to prove Laurence’s fear right £75,000! The Banker said some games are not roller coasters and are more like bobsleighs, all down hill. The Banker offered £1,100 – No Deal. Laurence couldn’t stop picking the wrong boxes; £100,000 and £50,000 were found in round three. “Evil luck” thought Noel, Laurence knew it was just a one box game. £1,000 completed the round. The Baker spoke to Laurence and player the song ‘party time’ down the phone. Laurence never said a word because the offer was just 11p – No Deal.

Noel wanted an all-blue round but Mini delivered £20,000. £5,000 was then found “you have to laugh” said Laurence who only had £10,000 left. He had hit six reds in a row and Noel couldn’t remember any player having an all-blue eight box. £250 concluded the fourth round. The Banker was amazed that Laurence found six reds in seven boxes. If he played Deal or No Deal seven days a week it would take over 18 months to do that again. The Banker offered the Swap to allow Laurence to bring box 11 to the Pound Table – No Swap. An all-blue fifth round of £5, £10 and £100 was much better. The Banker thought there was still time for Laurence to become the unluckiest male player ever. He was prepared to offer £1,100 but would let Laurence precede one box at a time if he went on – No Deal. Yvonne flipped the lid on box two to see £10,000! Laurence had the unwanted title of ‘the unluckiest male player ever.’ The Banker welcomed him to the Deal history book and offered £10 – No Deal. £750 left the three lowest amounts. The Banker offered 4p – No Deal. 50p concluded the final round leaving a 1p / 50p finish. The Banker took a long time to ring because he went off to brush his teeth and have a shower. He offered 2p – No Deal. Noel flipped the lid on Laurence’s box 14 to reveal 1p! Laurence became our 31st member of the 1p club but had an amazing experience.

For the full game report click here>>>
more
