Deal or No Deal is filled to the brim with fantastic and heart-breaking moments in equal measure – many of which are in the very same game. It was back in 2014 when Pat Crick forged her way into the Deal record books with the highest ever offer made by The Banker.

After steadily making her way through the board in her tension-filled early rounds, Pat found herself with the dream finish of both the £100,000 and £250,000 boxes on the table. With Box 23 taken into account, there was the potential for the retired PA to walk away with half a million pounds to her name. Sensing a turn for the worse, The Banker was forced to make his highest ever offer on the show: a massive £170,000.

Pat wisely accepted The Banker’s offer, turning down Box 23 and leaving one of Deal’s richest contestants. She may have turned down Box 23 – which contained an extra £10,000 – but in Pat’s own words, ‘What’s £10,000 between friends?’
